This past Summer I had the opportunity to sit down with Chris, from SAOSIN on the Vans Warped Tour. We had a chat about tropical skittles, the bands beginnings, and their upcoming Japan adventures. Read on to find out more info on this Southern California quintet, who is steadily taking the rock music scene by storm.

A: How're you doing today?

C: I'm doing great. It's cool down here in beautiful Long Island so I'm stoked.

A: Thank God!

C: Yeahhh.

A: So we're on Warped Tour, How's it been going so far?

C: It's been good. We took quite some time off to record and write our last record so this is kind of like a hard tour to get right back into... Especially after being off tour a year. We're three weeks in and still struggling but it's cool to have a bunch of friends we grew up touring with and listening to on the same tour at the same time.

A: What's your favourite place you've gone to this tour so far?

C: Montreal. It's like a European city within North America. I had a good time.

A: That's definitely a cool spot. For people who don't know your music, describe your sound.

C: Aggressive alternative rock. We keep our structures simple and familiar but there's always a hint...that you don't really know how it sounds different, you just know that it does. I think that's how we build our sound.

A: Tell us about your album, what's it all about.

C: Album comes out on Sept 8^th of this year, called In Search of Solid Ground. 13 tracks, 5 of which we produced ourselves. We mixed the entire record ourselves and did the album artwork ourselves. Comes out on Virgin Records in a couple months so we're pretty stoked.

A: What's your favourite track on the record?

C: I dunno, I think A Still Small Voice. We produced it ourselves. Coincidentally when we were working on the song we were listening to older Michael Jackson tracks, where the backup vocals are really loud. It has this weird vibe too it. We tried to incorporate the idea of putting backup vocals way up front with the main vocals buried. MJ passed and that puts your influences way closer to home.

A: What's your favourite food joint to stop at that you can't get in your home town?

C: O0oh, hard one! In any college town there's a Jimmy Johns. It's not that great but there's a sandwich on there I just love.

A: How'd you get together as a band?

C: All of us kind of met in different ways. It's not like we all started the band together. Our guitar players got together in '02, working on music. They sent out tracks, found a singer and shortly after they were supposed to play their first show but ended up cancelling. I was at the show with a band I was in and met Justin out front.  He explained who he was and how they cancelled because there bass player quit. So I told him straight up I was there new bass player and that was it. Then Alex came into the picture. We lost our original singer who now sings for circa survive. Our present singer sent us some tracks and it just went from there. Now here we are!

A: What is your favourite skittle flavor and why?

C: Do any taste different?

A: Yeah!

C: Yano, I like the blue skittles in the tropical pack.

A: Hah, good choice. What's coming up for you guys in the future?

C: In about a week and a half we're going to be flying out to Japan to do a fest out there called Summer Sonic. Bands like Paramore and My Chemical Romance are playing. Then we'll probably release the record and tour for the next few years, I'm sure.

A: To end the interview, what would your advice be for fans who are trying to make it in the same business that you are?

C: Learn to do as much as you can yourself, and then hire someone. Cause that's how you really get screwed.

A: Great advice. Thank You, it's been a pleasure!

BMTH: Pretty excited. LA is always cool. Itll probably be our biggest show we’ve ever played here, we’re stoked. These are the types of tours we’d always want to go to when we were kids so its exciting that we’re apart of them now.

Ariana: Whats your favourite spot in the us?

BMTH: LA, definitely.

Ariana: Where did you come up with the name Bring Me The Horizon?

BMTH: Pirates of the Carribean stole it off of us.

Ariana: So it’s been 5 years since you formed, did you ever expect this much success?

BMTH: Nope. We were pretty serious about it, no laughs.

Ariana: Your last album was significantly different from this one, why did you change your sound?

BMTH: Our last sound was sh*t! We wanted to do something decent. We knew we wanted to something different, we just didn’t know how our why…and it just turned out the way it did.

Ariana: How did you guys get together?

BMTH: Backyard wrestling.

Ariana: How’d you REALLY get together.

BMTH: We were all mates, a few of us met in college. We just, started a band.

Ariana: Were you music majors?

BMTH: Music and art, yeah.

Ariana: Where would you most like to visit?

BMTH: Space. And Universal studios. No, japan. But we’re going there this year, so…

Ariana: Are you gonna sight see in LA?

BMTH: Well we would of but we’re in this hotel room with you.. Kidding!

Ariana: Who gets on each others nerves the most?

BMTH: Lee, he works out way too much.

Ariana: Whats your most annoying habits?

BMTH:  Oli tries to kiss me.

              Matts really racist.

              Lee thinks he’s donkey kong.

Ariana: Whats coming up for your future?

BMTH: We’re going to release a pop song. Throw in some r&b for our next cd.

Ariana: Whats your favourite track from your recent album?

BMTH: Its too hard, theyre all pretty good!

Ariana: Do you stem your songs from real situations?

BMTH: Theyre all based on comics. No yeah, its from life.

Ariana: What are you most looking forward to seeing on the chaos tour.

BMTH: Canada! Its really nice and we sell a lot of merch there. We made about 15 grand in Toronto last time!

Ariana: Wow. Whats your favourite place to stop for food.

BMTH: Walmart!

Ariana: What?

BMTH: That’s where all the food is! Otherwise, food sucks here. Baja Fresh and Quiznos are good though. Taco bell and things like that are crap.

Ariana: What are you guys all about?

BMTH: ROCKIN IT.

BMTH: purple, red and orange… cause its tasty.  Have you had sours?

so um, my life has been out of control these past few weeks. lots of sudden happenings. i need to start learning to expect the unexpected, always.

in awesomeness news, i made the spring dance concert and am now dancing 5 days a week. i am in love with my post modern teacher. if he wasnt an older gay, id force his hand in marriage. he's absoutely everything i needed right now. i've set goals and i'm positive there is no better person to help me reach them. we're only at the end of week three of winter quarter and i'm already feeling SUCH an improvement with my body mind and spirit. FUCK YES.

in NOT awesomeness news, i have sprained my ass. yep, my ASS. but, i'm on meds and i have a fabulous gay running my physical therapy sessions and he rubsss my shiiiit outttt. so its all good. i'm being extra careful. i honestly thought i had hurt everything you could possibly hurt in your body, but i've proven myself wrong. cool.

last weekend erin and i had the best fucking time. we went to abbey, this really chic gay club and i met josh...my new LA GAY. he's fabulous. we are dance partners in crime. so far, the abbey is the coolest club i've been to in california. its adorned with plush couches, mood lighting, edible fruits on the tables, its packed with people, and garnished with such hip&elegant decor. and its HUGEEE. i LOVE it. plus apple martini's with real apple slices? ummm.







after that adventure we headed over to a rooftop party at Kress. yano, i dont believe in going to those types of pretentious hollywood places but i just cannot resist a rooftop event. erin and i were sitting in a pod looking type chair, overlooking the LA city lights and the mountains in the distance when we thought oh, its times like these when you're like yeah...this shit is legit. thats when you think how wonderful it is to be where we are, and when you remember not to take it for granted. i do hate how people are treated in those types of places. when we arrived we immediately got waved in to walk on this red carpet leading to a private elevator where security escorted us inside, pressed the buttons for us, and walked us up some stairs and into the room. its like, whats the need? and how bad does it suck for the girls who wait outside for hours? this society, as we all know, is focused entirely too much on outward appearance. its disgusting.


the next night we needed to recover so we went to a house party near me. twas good times. the dude had a freakin dj dance party goin down inside the side of his house. erin and i were going to go to ihop but we only made it as far as the parkinglot before taking out the car keys and crashing. we awoke, dazed, some few hours later trying to remember what the fuckkk happened. i have never fallen asleep like that in my car before. its nuts.

this week i discovered where all that noise is coming from upstairs....turns out we have some 300 pounder ladies livin up in dem rooms. THE MYSTERYYYY. IS OVAHHHH.

im glad i've been sticking to my new years resolutions. although its only the 3rd ish week in january? i decided this year i will: stop procrastinating, talk to hott boys, stop doing things halfhazardly, finish what I start, remember the meaning of photography, find a release, and find balance. so far, so good.

ive been writing A SHIT TON and its really helping me in a lot of ways. its getting almost too out of control though. i need to either simmer down or write a book.

i realized artists today aren’t legendary. who in our generation compares to individuals such as the rolling stones, tina turner, the beatles, etta james, billie holliday, barbara streisand, whitney housten, bob marley, etc. who do we have? oh, N*Sync? Really? it makes me nervous. i'm really into missy higgens though lately, and everyone else should be too.

these past few days have been mucho busy though, but when am i not. i had two band photo shoots [red car wire, the ready set], lots of errands, and random 1am hangout sesh's on top of classes work rehearsals and all that jazz. i came across Paseo Colorado while trying to find radio shack and accidentally spent ohhh 600 dollars that i dont have. i know, i know, i'm out of control. aside from losing my mind in the stores, i discovered such a BEAUTIFUl place that i never knew existed. paseo colorado is like, an outdoor mall in old town pasadena and its just...so pretty. theres a whimsical vibe to it. its all yellow and strung lighting, ecclectic music and random water fountains. i sat beside one sipping on a winter dream from cawfee bean for like, an hour...just listening to the droplets shoot up and than crash down. it was soo relaxing. so nice. i needed it after going to 3 freakin walmarts to get my t.v. my GOSH, does everything have to be such a task? ew i shouldnt be complaining, theres people in africa who truck three miles over sharp rocks with no shoes just to get water, and than they come back with parasites. LOLZ i learned that in anthro last quarter.


had an interesting time with parkeyparks the other night. i'm set on orange county when i'm older, the place is just too beautiful to pass up. all those mountains and stars and gorgeous scenic overlooks. its just wonderful. we had fun though. singing katyperry songs and falling asleep on the bathroom floor and jacuzzi-ing it up in the warm summer night air-- HAVE. I. MENTIONED. THE WEATHER HERE!!??!?!?!? oh, oh i did..

so anyways, this weekend im taking it easy because i just feel like it. okay, well tonight i am. ahahah. ive been obsessed with enhancing my vocabulary and i've been dictionary.com-ing like, every thing for hourssssss. what a nerd! why do so many words have more than one meaning? stupid english. its just un necessary. i bet you don't REALLY know what stoic means. or politics. or ethics. or rhetorical. or vacuous. or dissaray. or dubious. or nebulous. or obstinacy. or existentialism. or effusive. or unduly. WELL I DO.

ive also decided  i would like to date surfers because i want to be in the surf scene. ahah. c'mon, it'd be pretty dope living in a shack house by the beach, waking up with fresh pineapple juice by your bed...going out and being greeted by the sun and big waves that your hubby is riding...to get him prepared for riding you, later. riiiight. rightttt!? the life.

i dont think people actually live until they share their life with someone else. i really believe that. so it undoubtedly sucks for people who never find someone. I just want someone to inspire me right now. in fact, i need it.

i donated blood today and i feel a bit dizzy. but hay, i saved three lives.

jenn and i also saw THE READER in the city. ohmygod, you must put it on your to do list. it is phenominal. i'm going to start up the book as soon as i'm finished with "are you there vodka? its me, chelsea." ahah. kate winslet has earned her spot as my favourite actress of all time. the film is just...so well done artistically and i think it portrays exactly what its supposed to.

i basically got everything i ever wanted for christmas this year. and so did my parents. we all went all out because we missed each other so much and i did it right this time...i gave my mother a complete and exact list of what i want how much it is and where to get it with explicit directions. the highlights were: chelsea handlers novel, a twilight record clock, aldo boots, sex and the city esque shoes, 7 bras from vicky secret, the satchel bag i've wanted from urban for foreverrrrr as well as a bunch of other urban outfitters items, a bunch of american apparel, a bunch of victoria secret, the gap sweater ive wanted, a bunch of records and art books, and of coarse lots of dark chocolate.






at first i was really, really depressed about being back but my LA friends have made it all better. for some reason this was the hardest good bye to date. ross took me out to a colonial times museum in which we walked through a village madeup entirely of actual houses from the olden days. it also came complete with a fully costumed tour guide. ive always wanted to wear those big bussel dresses. someone make me one. i just love historical things. there are so many stories and hidden secrets. for example, they found a time capsul under the church with random things including a castodians pay..which was pieces of glass windows..and than the museum got an anonymous letter from a landlord saying his tenant paid him with the glass windows. how fucking crazy.

yes, its true. i now own jeans. i know, i know. BIG DEAL. i just felt it was time. i like the look of high heeled boots with low rise skinnies, a sweater scarf and sleek leather jacket. so, Guy took me to Levi's where his friend works and i had a gay fit me for a few hours until i found the right pair. i'm not in love with it, but itll do. thaaaaaaaaaaan i went to BCBG and couldn't help myself: i bought this GORGEOUS designer dress from Paris. oops. it was on sale, shadup. it took forever to find the right size though. in reality i'm a 2. but my boobs beg to differ. i couldnt get those puppies into anything lower than a 6. and now i need a hem. RIDICULOUS. i'm so out of proportion.

the other night I went to Jasons house for a sort of all time low/autition after party shindig. twas good times. lots of beer, dominos, guitar hero, and crazies singing taking back sunday into all hours of the night. what more could you ask for?

but all i've REALLY been doing since ive been home, is basically..... i've sat on the couch, watched tv, and not moved. seriously theres been periods of days and days that are filled with nothing but will and grace, sex and the city, and sparatic times where i get up to maybe pee, or eat chocolate. haahah. i neeeeeeded this. ive had some highlights though. i partied a bit too hard in the city the other night with danicah. i went in to see her show at Pace. before that, i met up with megz in greenwich village at this cute little cafe. it was so christmasy. we ordered nothing but assorted cawfee's and desserts. heaven. i love christmas in the city. Dee's show was phenominal--so funny. afterwards we went to cafeteria with her mom and ms. reinart. GOURMET MAC N CHEESE WHATUPPP. i tried there new acai berry drink. its uh-may-zing.

after dinner we had some drinks at ryans and than headed to tjs for Paces big end of the semester musical theatre extravaganzaaa party thingy. somehow i knew most of the people in there. it was a long island theatre reuinion! kind of. 

the next morning i awoke in danicah's plush brooklyn heights apartment! or mansion rather. fucking bitch. has it made. we strolled along her cute little town. overlooking manhattan, the bridge, lots of prettiness. i hate her. ahah. we got a mini breakfast at a cute little cafe and than i had to go home to see the holiday lights showwwwww with everyone. its become a tradition. if u live on long island, you should go. its trippy. outback was after that. god i missed that restaurant. honeybutter and brown breadddd<33. tommy and i had an interesting night. looking at christmas lights on houses while listening to deathcab and 60's music, out of our minds.




so, I want to write a column now. or a book. or something. okay maybe not anytime soon. maybe when i'm 30. but its on my list of things i want to accomplish.

so lately i've been deep thinking about weird random shit. i feel like 1968 and all the years around it were the best years of the earth and will never happen again. and im so sad i missed it. I couldn’t even imagine being the one who starts a revolution. Like Warhol or lennon. How amazing would that be? I want too though. But how.. well if I can’t start one, I want to at least be apart of one. Gosh people are so brilliant. Artists I mean. I dont know if id want to give up my sanity to become legendary though, ya know? I understand that theres all these philosophical beliefs and movements that have occurred—Marxism, dada, surrealism. But Have we figured everything out? Are there more movements to come? Or is this it. Are we at the height or ALLOWANCE of our intelligence as human beings? I cant think of any one public figure right now with the ability to change. Anything. I also just realized everything ive ever loved is completely connected. For example, Betsey Johnson was married to john cale from the velvet underground, and yoko ono was friends with andy Warhol. Like, how did i not know my favourite fashion designer was connected with one of my favourite bands? or that one of my most favourite artists is connected with, in my opinion, on of the most legendary women thats ever lived? Blows my mind.

and Lots of interesting people are coming in and out of my life lately. If even for a split second. and there making an impact. or maybe thats always happened but i'm just noticing it now. There are lots of interesting people in the world. I just, want to travel everywhere. and meet everyone. from all walks of life.

the oddest thing happened to me a few days ago. heres the story: a guy messaged me on myspace saying ' long time no see!' and i was like 'um i dont know you.' and than he was all 'shit, wrong girl. well im visitng LA in a week, maybe i'll see you around. 'and im like 'yeah, maybe we'll accidentally run into each other.' and sure enough, the night he arrived...i somehow end up at his sisters house for her birthday party. i dont even know her. and we looked at each other and went shuutt the fuckkkkk uppppp. how insane!?!?!? we REALLY did accidentally run into each other. i cant get over it. on top of that, he's awesome. i can't wait to visit him in vegas.

anyhoo, my last week in LA before coming home for break was uh-may-zing. erin josh and i went to the standard. met crazies. searched endlessly for t-zone. failed. settled for 3am subway. hung with jake and nate. sang about b.j.'s. shot for automatic loveletter/metrostation/cute is what we aim for/cash cash.

i saw my dear friend anthony in the national tour of spring awakening. he was phenom, as was everybody else. it was my first time seeing it on stage and i looooveeeeddd it. sucha different experience. especially when anthony and the cast molested me via backstage during touch me. ahahh. i'm so proud of him. kinda made me depressed though. i think i have problems. i want to do everything and everyday i feel differently about what i want to do more. now all i want to do is tour the nation in a musical. im thinking of dropping everything and really focusing on theatre. lmao. somethings wrong with me. i am never satisfied! ugh. and i know whatever i put my mind too, the outcome will be what i want..eventually. so, really all i have to do is choose.

so after the show we went to Corbins house for a little shindig. His parents were so nice! They ordered us sooo much domino's. I kept calling him chicken cordon bleu. ahahah. we ate pizza in the jacuzzi and roasted smores at the fire pit for pretty much the entire night. it was heaven. plus he had a light ball thing in the jacuzzi, cherry 7up, and music playing. i mean, what more can u ask for? his song from high school musical came on because the stereo was on shuffle and it was reeaaaally funny. after that we literally played video games, wii, and guitar hero WORLD TOUR till about 7 am. it was out of control. i took lots of poloroids and kept falling asleep. ahah. that leopard couch was too comfy. he busted out 'high school musical sing along' at one point and i died. we didnt actually play it though. it would have been funny to see him sing along too...himself. ahah.

a few nights later we all went to see lucas in MILK. me, anthony, nathan, the spring awakeners, some kids from the HSM cast and some dancers from that dance crew show. that fucking movie. is so amazing. i have to see it again. i recommend it to everyone. emile hirsch is my new crush. and my goal for 2009. ahah.

afterwards we took ridiculous pictures outside of the arclight and had a tap off. ohhh i love theatre kids. i missed my peoples yo. so sick of un creative un thinking un motivated people. oh gosh am i talking about my room mates? hahah. i cant wait to get out of there...moving ASAP! yeah, the room mate situation has worsened, and its not getting better. so i'm just leaving. i don't need un necessary drama threatening to mess up my flowwww yo. anyhoo! after that we went to Mels, but on hollywood blvd...not sunset. INTERESTINGGG. we all got lots n lots of food. and it was berry fun. than we went to anthony's hotel for a partayyyyyy. okay, more like a play dough extravaganza. but whateves. ahah. the spring awakening drummer taught me some new skillz. i'm determined to get really, really good. you'll see.

new york has been so amazing. leaving ny has made me realize this is where my heart is. i honestly love it here. i am not torn. i am a new yawker. i love the vibe. the people. REAL people. the atmosphere. the attitude. my comfortable bed. my animals. my friends. my parents. my dads COOKING ohhhmyyylawwwd. my couch. even the pretty snow. fuck the cold though haahh.

so i've realized a lot of things lately. especially since coming back to ny. i have grown up SO. MUCH. everyone is saying it. and all of a sudden, life clicked. and i get it. i totally get it. and i cant explain it. im just, starting to figure everything out, ya know? and it feels great.

ps. i've been obsessed with yoko ono since yesterday. i dont know why, but i went on a rampage looking up every single thing about her...and she's brilliant. i'm so jealous of those kinds of people. of people like the beatles. who have literally changed the world. and of all the people involved in their lives. i want to be a part of a movement.

its been rainy in los angeles for a few days. i've gone without it for 2 months and i hate that. i never realized how much i enjoyed the sound of rain against my window while i'm going to sleep or the smell of it. reminds me of home. i leave for new york in one week egg-sactly! i love it here, but i need a break. a mental and emotional break from everything. new york is for sure where my hearts at, i definetely think i'll end up back in the city when i'm older. i miss it so muchhhhh. i can't wait to see friendss! and family. and pets. and eat real food. mm. so this was my first year away from home on thanksgiving! i was going to go to a soup kitchen, and than shwayze's house in malibu..but i accidentally woke up at 5pm. ahah. my friend patricks family graciously took me in. it was wonderful. a lovely house. a lovely family. great food. we ate, played trivial pursuit, drank, and had desert. the first california thanksgiving. it was a good day. watching the sun set behind the mountains as i drove an hour to his house was my favourite part.

i always pass this record store AMOEBA while walking to the arclight parking lot from buzznet and i've always wanted to go in. so, the other day i did and BOY did i not know what i was getting myself into. the place is huge! i spent 3 hours in there and over 60 bucks ahah. i got a vintage 'the who' show poster, 3 vinyl records, 2 beatles magazines from the 70's, a 'life of john lennon' novel, and a crazy art book with a bunch of poems and quotes and pictures and photos that make absolutely no sense. oh! and i FINALLY bought the 'troll in central park' cassette for 1.99. my mom spilled cawfee on it when  i was little and i've always wanted another copy. i feel complete. if you live in los angeles, i recommend going there at least once..but be prepared!

on a hysterical note: the other night i went to the roxy to see cisco and shwayze and as i'm getting out of my car i SLICE my finger open. dont ask me how. so i'm in the venue doing an interview with the opening band--Krista [shes amazing by the way, an awesome girl...check her out] aaaaaand i look down and my hand is like, gushing blood. it did not stop for about 2 hours. everyone in the entire venue was running around looking for a first aid kit for me. all the bands were frantic, trying to get my finger fixed up. i cant believe this little tiny cut caused so much freaking drama. ahahah. eventually we assessed the problem and everyone put on an awesome show. the roxy's backstage is THE coolest i've ever been too. so 1968. so 'almost famous' a lot of old band posters and crazy lighting. i love it. that was a good show photowise as well. i was worried cause there was no pit but shwayze let me on stage to get the shots. they came out really good. after the show shwayze dissapeared and we went to this restaurant/bar with cisco and we ran into Ron Jeremy and the wrestler China! lmao. i died. he's so fat and fugly. that dick must work wonders.

got to interview hanson about two weeks ago. they are my favourite band, i don't care what you think. a few of my friends from new york came to see all the hanson shows and me at the twilight premier. it was nice to have them here. the entire weekend from nov 14-16 was filled with HANSON. on the 14th i spent literally 2 hours looking for legit parking, because i refuse to pay valet, and i ended up getting my car towed. figures. so in reality, we went to AROMA and had THE most amazing meal over picking up my car in time. ahah. ugh. like, caramelized hazelenut ravioli something or other with bruschetta and this really decorative coffee drink. i cant even. i died. it was worth it.  imagine i was alone though? ..Wouldve been stranded in front of that strip club. what the fuck cali police. what the fuck. so we hada go to this shady tow place and retreive my poor car. it was an eventful night. at the show..some girls in VIP kept moving the rope over so we couldnt see, but they didnt know i was VIP too...i was just choosing to dance with my friends. so i hopped the rope and told them to move their fat asses over. ahah. always so much drama. we didnt let that ruin our night though.

the nov15th show was my favourite. it was at disneyland. beforehand i had  an interview with Val Emmich [solo artist/ugly betty] at Hotel Cafe and i had to BOOK IT to orange county. the drive was so insane.  we drove through the california fires! well, not really..but, it was as if we were driving through an oven. its what i imagine an oven smells and looks like to a baking brownie. ahah. the entire air was coated a redish orange tint and the whole sky was filled with red and orange clouds and it smelled of ...smoke. it was un real. we took 'The Walk'  before the show, which i always love doing. For the past two tours hanson has had a 2mile walk before every show with all the fans. hanson donates a dollar for every mile each individual walks, and the proceeds go to children in africa. in addition, we walk without shoes and afterwards are able to buy 'Toms Shoes'. For every pair you buy, a child in Africa gets a pair. Hanson personally delivers them. i love those boys. i have two pairs myself. My interview was great, of coarse. They are the only band i can legitimately say i am a fan of. It probably has something to do with the fact that i've loved them since i was 8. i can truley say there music has effected my life. not just there music, but the whole hanson experience. i've seen them in 8 different states with my best friend courtney, over 25 times at this point, and each time just gets better and better.every SINGLE person in the audience is DIE HARD fans, and that makes the shows so much more fun. because its like, everyone is feeling everything you are. everyone is bonded. everyone breaths in the music in the same way that you are. there music has been my escape, my therapy..for almost my entire life. i feel so fucking bad for people who aren't hanson fans. and so priveledged that i am one. and for the haters, suck it. no seriously though, go check out there new shit. if all you know is mmmbop, you can't judge.

after my interview ivy and i galavanted around downtown disney. we were on a hunt for food. we had the munchies sooooo bad. we ended up with gourmet mac n cheese. it was indescribable. we got iced cawfee's too but i dropped mine in front of a bunch of people. typical. than i got sephora bubble bath to cheer myslelf up. ahah.

oops, did i drop every cent i had at urban outfitters the other day? i think so. gosh, i went in for ONE DRESS and accidentally bought the whole store. i always do that there. i have no control. and than i stumbled upon THE best frozen yogurt place yet. its called '21 Choices' and its got a coldstone feel. its sick. its delicious. its magnificent. i think ill have it every day.

i'm going to go ice my neck now and take a muscle relaxent. its been stiff since last sunday. i got a deep tissue massage at the chiropractor, but it didnt work. apparently its inflammed and i'm having spasms. ahah. how do i do these things to myself? it could be how i slept, the hardcore gymnastics i did last saturday, or when my head got slammed into the stage at a bring me the horizon show. those fucking crowd surfers. hardcore shows make photography so fun and intense though. always dodging flying people and shit. its nuts. that was a really fun show actually. seeing those brits made me miss warped tour.

looking forward to chinese tea and than rocky horror tonight. i'm joining the cast at the nuart theatre after winterbreak ..so if you're in the LA area...you should come see it! these tea's are taking over my life. i have to have one every day. strawberry black milk tea is my faaaav!

 oh ps my room mate issue is resolved! they all apoligized for acting so meanly. now we just ignore each other in a cival way. i can't wait to live with my friends next year.

Buzznet: What’re your plans for Thanksgiving?

The Classic Crime: We actually have some friends in Denver who are going to make us a nice Thanksgiving meal. We love Denver. It was either that or Walmart. Haha. No home cookinz for us, we’re from Seattle.

Buzznet: Is it really that rainy in Seattle?

The Classic Crime: Well right now…yeah. It’s not like South rain, it’s just lots of drizzly showers.

Buzznet: Have you guys read the Twilight books?

The Classic Crime:  No, but my wife has read three of them! She’s in love with that and I think its sounds stupid when she explains the books to me.

Buzznet: Its amazing! It takes place near Seattle, so…

The Classic Crime: We were actually just talking about this today! The book takes place in the rainiest spot in America…cause the vampires don’t like the sun! They actually have a Halloween type theme going on in Forks right now because of the books, I believe.

Buzznet: The movie comes out the 21^st, you should go.

The Classic Crime: That’s our Seattle show, I could actually go watch it with my wife!

Buzznet: How does this album differ from your last album?

The Classic Crime:  Albatross was written over a 4 year span, so it’s a wide range of songs put together. With this one, we wrote all the songs in a 4 month period so it focuses on who we are now as people. We’re more mature now. It’s not about lollipops and unicorns like our first record, haha. The first one wasn’t as cohesive as this one. And there was so to speak, pressure for hits. But with this one we could do whatever we wanted. Our producer is rad and let us do that, that’s why it came out how it did. You can’t force creativity. We put every song we wrote on the record.

Buzznet: If u had to choose, would u rather eat fruits or veggies for the rest of your life?

The Classic Crime: Fruits

The Classic Crime: I’m already a decent height, so maybe if I chose fruits at birth I’d be screwed. Isn’t there a weird thing that’s both a fruit and veggie?

The Classic Crime: Well yeah, I like pizza. I can eat tomatoes on a burger but I don’t like those little tomatoes…what’re they called?

The Classic Crime: We get ‘em thrown at us every night so we don’t like ‘em…

Buzznet: Ever had NY or Chicago pizza?

The Classic Crime: Of course! Sometimes the sauce is only on the top. Thick crust. Its different. I’m a Philly cheese steak kinda guy.

Buzznet: East Coast, represent! What has been your favorite place to stop and eat on the road?

The Classic Crime: Universally? IN AND OUT. Your in and out, done. Bada bing bada boom! We like waffle house too , as gross as that is.

Buzznet: When your on the road, who annoys each other the most?

The Classic Crime: Our guitarist Robert Gabriel the 2^nd… Or 3^rd? …who cares, hes annoying. Haha, he’s the king of worst timing. Whenever we’re doing anything important, he calls.  A lot, until we pick up.

Buzznet: What’s your own personal worst habit?

Justin: I bite my finger nails.

Skip: I do the weird mustache rub.

Buzznet: You both kind of have a mini mustache going on…

Buzznet: If you could tour with anyone dead or alive, who would you most wanna tour with?

The Classic Crime: The biggest band of all time, The Beatles. Obviously, so the most people could see us, haha. Or Elvis. Or U2! I mean, who doesn’t like Bono? I bet he’d hook me up with something sweet. Led Zeppelin too! Classic rock is what’s up. I’d wanna play those rock arena shows.

Buzznet: Based on your shirt , you like As I Lay Dying?

The Classic Crime: Long story about our shirt… we were on the 2^nd half of Warped, they were on the first, and we shared the same bus. They actually left a buncha shirts on the bus.

Buzznet: Haha, to end the interview…I have an Important question! What’s your  favourite skittle flavor and why?

Justin: Def the pink one. No I take it back, the red one. What flavor is that?

Buzznet: Generic cherry. Aha.

Justin: It won’t ever disappoint you.

Skip: Umm I like the passion fruit. The pastel colors. Purple pack. Wild berry or whatever? Tropical something? Oh and sour skittles!

Buzznet: I can’t handle those.

The Classic Crime: When you were little, I bet your mom wouldn’t let you eat cry babies.

Buzznet: Yeah I was upset about it.

well. LA fashion week was a success. i met a lot of amazing people and attended a lot of amazing events. walking the runway was obviously my favourite part. i can't believe they had me open the show. and the flaunt magazine after party, where erin spilt her martini all over herself in front of mr. hottie in the corner. ahah. priceless. i also took a tour of the california market center, compliments of the owner of bettybottom designs, who i met while shooting for Voom. I never understood the whole buying/selling thing with stores and designers until i saw everything in person. it was a good time, i gave out 1,000 of my business cards. hahah.

basically my life has been class, getting a lot of parking tickets, coaching at the gym, and covering show after show for buzznet. ahah. so far all american rejects has been my favourite interview. i'm a bit stressed as always, but i'm having a lot of fun. i need a breaaaak. I miss rain. So much. The only time it rained is when i went down to the o.c. to see Parker. we played bar games and laughed a lot, conversed with a wacko waaaaasted lady,  got sumz 7/11 aaaand hung out in a super 8 parking lot with creepy drug dealers? oh man. we waz makin moves! it was pretty misty out but the ride home was scary as FUCK. there was sooo much fog. and i couldnt see. scary scary scary.

halloween was so good. its my favourite holiday! The only thing I didn’t get to do was go to Knotts Berry. I was going to go with Sky Eats Airplane one night after their show but it got out too late. Soo bummed. Ah well, theres always next year. I did get to go to a buncha Mexican day of the dead celebrations, though. fried banana's with cream and strawberries are the best.  And I went to a lot of Halloween events at different clubs in Hollywood and what not. My friend ari hosted one at echo and I wore a crazy leapard costume dress and had amazing thai food at 3am . the rest of halloween was filled with pumpkin patches and hay rides, corn eating and jack-o-lantern making.. dorothy costume in which i waited on line for 3 hours at party city for..and trick or treating in beverley hills, where everyone said “YOU LOOK GREAT!” is that a fixed line for the trickortreaters?

The West Hollywood parade thing was out of fucking control. so insane. so good. nathan and i walked the whole  thing twice. naked people and trannies galore. paprazzi. chocolate mousse. prince covers. so good. the whole thing was so goood. i felt under dressed in my dorothy outfit, i'm taking it up 10 levels next yr. it took me 2 HOURS to drive 5 blocks to ivy's house afterwards. I hate LA traffic. And parking. HATE IT.  I ended Halloween at ari’s house, eating  trader joe cookies and watching the stars on his trampoline.

The most memorable night of the past few weeks was when a bunch of us went to santa monica at like, 3am. We were all in one of those crazy moods, and just ran around like children on the pier and the beach, falling on the playground and swinging on the swings. It was priceless.

My favourite event so far has been the Keepabreast benefit. My mom had breast cancer [she’s fine now tho!], so I help out in every way I can. I love KAB.  it was good times. I’ve been obsessed with Good Old War’s music since than. Some how the band Halo’s got me to do their photo shoot in the middle of the fucking street on sunset blvd. ahah. Afterwards parker, jpoon and I got maaaad food and than went to parkers friend jens for the night. We stayed up all night watching bull riding shows. LMAO. "did you know that 70 percent of leo dicaprio's voted for obama!?!?!?!" mhm. out of our minds. ahahh.

 My birthday was kick ass. i FINALLY went to an expensive restaurant for a pre-birthday dinner with my roomies. i've been dying without my fine cuisine. we went to le petite four, on sunset...and it was spectacular. got a gourmet chicken dish with a banana chocolate mousse dessert. it had a candle in it, lit, and i blew it out&made a wish. heaven. the wait staff was so amazing. and we got the best table in the house. it was between the inside and outside. so we were warm and cozy while still getting that outside breeze. there were rich ladys there eating french fries with forks. i died. ahah.
